ESSENTIAL OIL PERFUMES
Perfumes can be intoxicating, seductive and evoke memories and emotions. However, as most of us know, there is a dark side to the perfume industry. To protect their recipes, commercial perfume manufacturers are permitted to withhold disclosing ingredients, many of which are potentially hazardous synthetic chemicals (often petrochemicals).
Sensitive to fragrances?
It’s no surprise. The average commercially produced fragrance contains 14 chemicals which often present themselves as allergies, sensitivity, headaches, skin reactions, or nausea when exposed. These effects can be from aromatic exposure or physical exposure which can compound toxins and accumulate in your body.
We can easily create our own toxin free perfumes with quality therapeutic grade essential oils (I’m all about doTERRA Essential Oils) by simply combining in a roller ball several drops of essential oils with a quality carrier oil. I prefer fractionated coconut oil.

Did you know? Our sense of smell is mainly based upon emotions. Most of us tend to prefer one or two aromatic profiles. This Fragrance Wheel will give you a better understanding of the aromatic profiles of fragrances.
For example, for Floral Main Notes choose Jasmine, Geranium, Lavender or Ylang Ylang Essential Oils. These oils blend well with citrus, woody or spicy oils. For Woody, choose Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vetiver, or Patchouli Essential Oils. These oils blend well with most any other category. Citrus oils are Fresh and blend well with floral and woody profiles. There are numerous recipes available or “go crazy” and create your own blend!
